What Are You Thankful For?" width="300" height="211" /></a>1. Measure your handful, handful of pretzels 80 calories, 1 almond 10 calories.</p>
<p>2. Bring a healthy dish to share. Watch out for the dip, eg: salsa mix w/fat free sour cream or hummus dip</p>
<p>3. Eat before you go. how much money do you spend when you go to the supermarket on an empty stomach.</p>
<p>4. Allow yourself one treat. Don&#8217;t deprive yourself. (maybe two)</p>
<p>5. Don&#8217;t go if you really don&#8217;t want to. holiday parties should be a celebration not a obligation.</p>
<p>6. Buddy up with a friend/family member. Help each other since eating is social, with help you will feel less pressure. </p>
<p>7. Dance,dance, dance, burn calories and keep busy, don&#8217;t be still, moonwalk away from the food.</p>
<p>8. Be a designated driver, 1 person is killed every 1/2 hour due to drunk driving, save your self hundreds of calories and you may even save a life.</p>
<p><strong>Festive Recipe:</strong><br /> Baked Butternut Squash and Cranberries<br /> 1 medium butternut squash<br /> half onion<br /> 1 tbsp. olive oil<br /> pinch of sage<br /> pinch of dried thyme<br /> pinch of cinnamon<br /> 1/2 cup dried cranberries<br /> 1/4 cup white, or red, cranberry juice, without added sugar</p>
<p>1. In large bowl, toss cubed squash and onion with olive oil.<br /> 2. Stir in herbs and cranberries.<br /> 3. Spread in lightly greased 3 or 4 quart baking dish.<br /> 4. Preheat oven to 350 deg<br /> 5. Cover dish and bake 1 hour<br /> 6. Pour juice over squash. Return to oven, and continue baking 15-20 minutes, uncovered.<br /> 7. Serve warm or cold.</p>
<p>Makes 6 servings &#8211; per serving: calories 130, protein 2g, carbohydrates 26g, fat 3g, cholesterol 0mg, sodium 6mg, fiber 4g.</p>
