#1 Shortcut to Help You Stop Overeating

Do you ever get so busy that you forget to eat throughout the day?

If you do, you are in the 90%! We all do it!

However, the real question is, what choices do you make when it’s finally time to eat. Most people over eat in this situation, which creates a major decrease in energy and a major increase in body fat over-time.

Click the video above to hear the #1 shortcut to help you not overeat when you are hungry, but eat how you are meant to nourish your body.

Spoiler Alert!!!!! Sir Fergusson makes an appearance and displays the exercise perfectly.

Conversely, have you ever wondered how the person next to you at the office is always energized, or the guy/girl that you see every day on your commute to work is constantly in a good mood, or how that mom with 3 kids, a husband, 2 dogs, a job and a household to run is super productive? #annoying

3 Tricks to Make it Easy to Exercise

In 2008, I found myself on the beaches of Honolulu, looking out into the ocean as the sun began to set. Holding onto my surfboard, I was contemplating one more wave and I remember saying a quick prayer because on the real–the Pacific had beaten me up all day. As I started to paddle out to catch my last wave of the day, I noticed the surf was getting bigger and bigger, but I still thought maybe I’ll just boogie board this last one in.

I have never been good with maybes, so I saw my wave and decided to take it. Unfortunately, what I found was it was taking me. The enormous energy of the ocean is nothing to take for granted. As I started to break to the left, I almost hit another surfer, so I changed direction. A few seconds later, I had to change direction again because I was heading right into the reef. Like a captain of his own ship, I decided I had to steer this ride. I pulled back on the wave like reigns on a horse going out of control and I took the wave all the way into shore almost on a straight line. I walked directly off the board as I approached the sand and gave thanks for my safe return home (a.k.a land).

3 vital lessons on momentum were born that day:

1. Momentum always has a direction.

2. You can’t surf momentum, you must steer it.

3. You must be willing to direct momentum instead of letting it direct you.

Now that you know what to do with momentum, the question is how do you create it. Click on the video above to watch this weeks conversation, where I provide 3 tips or tricks to help you create momentum in your movement and in your life.

P.S. In the comments section, please let me know what’s the #1 way you create momentum when you get off track. I will be personally reviewing your comments and answering your questions.

Thank you and it is an honor to serve you in health.

#1 Way to Reduce Your Chances of Getting Sick

I have to tell you guys something. I have not gone to the dentist in a long time until very recently. I almost am too embarrassed to say how long, but for you guys I have always been an open book—so here goes… it’s been 4 years…yes I said it…4 years. Part of it was because I have always felt pretty healthy, part of it was that I was too busy, and part of it was that I didn’t make it a priority. Ha ha ha…does this behavior sound familiar at all—all the many things that we don’t do even when we know it’s the right thing to do. We all have our moments of weakness.

This was definitely one of mine. So I get to my appointment and sit on the chair—and my dentist asks me to open my mouth and I cringe for a second—was a little nervous on what she was about to tell me. And then after probing a bit in my mouth with the uncomfortable silver rod and her small mirror, she looks at me and says, ”I am so surprised that you have not been to a dentist in so long, and your teeth look as good as they do.” She was baffled—but I wasn’t.

Several years ago, a dentist friend told me how important dental health is in your overall health journey. He told me that most people do not take care of their dental hygiene and it’s a huge factor as they get older – as it could lead to tooth decay, diseases, coronary issues, etc. And he gave me a regiment that I follow everyday—all day—#8DaysAWeek. He said, do this twice a day, in this order:

First, floss your teeth wells

Next, gargle with mouthwash

Then, brush your teeth (2 minutes minimum)

You may never have expected a blog entry on dental health from me—I know I am not a dentist—however; I am a coach of all things health. Our future health lies within so many factors and your hygiene plays a big role in that. Soon enough we will be talking about pooping well too! But until then, please follow your coach’s orders twice a day—morning and night:

Floss
Gargle with mouthwash
Brush for 2 minutes minimum

…it will be one of the best decisions you can make for your health.

Coach Adam Cobb

6 Simple Ways to Retrain Your Brain to Take Action

For years we all have instituted habits—daily actions that have become habitual by emulating others or for convenience alone. Some may improve our lives while others may add negativity or routine e.g., brushing your teeth twice a day to smoking a pack of cigarettes a day. The funny thing is, you already know which ones fall into which category—and you may have wanted to change things for a long time, but, you didn’t—because of the #1 reason I hear all the time, “life happens.”

Here’s the truth: Wanting to be healthy is one thing. Living a healthy lifestyle is another. One way to retrain your brain  is to follow the simple steps of Move Well, Eat Well, and Think Well.  Create a habit versus an idea.

For many of us, there comes a time that we start to take account of our lives—reflect on our childhood, actions, attitudes, relationships, careers, family, etc. These reflections provide us with reasons of who we are, why we do what we do, and most importantly—why we feel what we feel.

Repeat after me…
In moments of reflection comes an opportunity for change.

In moments of reflection comes an opportunity for change.

In moments of reflection comes an opportunity for change.

As I continue to unfold the FYCmethod—the third pillar—Think Well–plays the ultimate role in this transition of living healthy and being happy. I will teach you ways to reflect, techniques to relax and de-stress, and most importantly—have you commit to living the life you have always wanted to live.

If you made this far, be sure to click on the video above to check out the video to learn 6 simple ways to retrain your brain to take action.

Remember it’s not easy, but it is simple. Especially when we do it together.

#1 Way to Raise Your Metabolism Tomorrow Morning

How many of you think you eat well (most of time)?  You could be following the regimen of eating six times throughout a day, a low-carb diet, a gluten-free diet, or you’re vegetarian or vegan. Some of you may be thinking, that none of those apply to me—and I just eat what I eat when I am in the mood for it at the time. And, that’s okay too (for now).

I think we can all attest that the concept of eating well is not new, but has been defined in so many different ways that for a regular person it can lead to confusion and even sometimes mistrust of what is true and what is not.

Although we will get into many conversations on different approaches to nourishing your body, the one theme will always stay true—food is thy medicine.

This concept will never be disproven—as it is the holy grail of nutrition. I know everyone has heard that you are what you eat; however, what I would like to add is it’s not always just about the food. There are many other questions that people forgot to ask in between that can increase your metabolism, energy and hydration at the least.

Did I mention I am a big time foodie! I honestly LOVE to eat! This is why as a coach and nutritional consultant this topic is so important to me—not only to educate people of the good, bad and ugly about nutrition, but also help those of you who need a bit more encouragement to understand that you can still eat well and eat incredible food

Watch this week’s FYCblog to learn a vital tip on how to increase your metabolism first thing tomorrow morning.

Exercise or a Love Affair? You Choose.

Remember as a child we never thought twice about moving. It was always part of our daily routines in some capacity or another: be it playing freeze tag with your cousins, taking PE class at school, swimming at the local pool with friends, and/or playing a game of hopscotch on the sidewalk A lot of these activities were not done specifically to “exercise,” it was rather to have something fun to do.

Movement was equivalent with fun. Somewhere down the line life got busy, activities lessened, and movement took a back seat to everything else that was prioritized.

Your health dose today should give you an understanding why to “Move Well” is a core focus in the FYCmethod and why it should be important to you—not only today, but for how you live your life in the future.

Click on the video above to find out how you can start to fall in love with movement again.
